Cares for Kids Supporting Coats for Kids

On October 13th 2007, Cares for Kids partnered up with WTHR and the Salvation Army for their annual “Coats for Kids” drive, which serves children of Central Indiana with the necessities to keep warm in the winter. The Coats for Kids drive took place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, and benefited more than 7,000 underprivileged children with winter coats last year. To Cares for Kids, it was an opportunity to enhance the lives of children right here in our community. We brought more than $17,000 worth of youth hat/glove sets for the kids that attended this event. In addition, we brought along our volunteers, Todd Sharp, Mike Leistensnider, Ty Mays, Kelly Pandoli, Kris Anthis, Danielle Jernigan, and Jason Dawson. Meanwhile, Vice President Erica Wanous documented the experience and was on hand to help wherever she was needed. Cares for Kids believes in strengthening and supporting the children of our community through dedicated efforts of local causes such as Coats for Kids.
